Happenings and Stuff

The old year went flying out the door like a tornado, and we were invited to spend welcoming the New Year at friends. Was a bit weird as I only knew 2 persons there and the rest were total strangers. Now call me old fashioned, but I like to greet the new year with familiar people. Well, it wasn't that bad. We saw the partial eclipse, and the blue moon so to speak ;-)

A few home made lanterns caused for some excitement, and Danté had a blast with all the girls present. David was not totally in tune as he was (age wise) just in between the children and the grown-ups. But he did mingle.

We got home VERY late. Tired and sleepy. The New Year started and this year was going to be a beginning of new beginnings. Danté will start with year 6, and David will go to University, to study Film and TV Production.

It was a stressful end and start to the old and new year as Gideon wanted to finish the "Revolusie".com website, and used his allocated vacation days to do this. Not good. If he is trying to focus and work, it is nearly impossible to relax and have fun. He had some ironing out to do with the payment system, and some other issues that needed attention.

The first few days of the year, at work, he had to sort out a multi-billion Dollar deal and had to put off going to Holland with the team. He and a German colleague, worked from early in the morning till 11PM sometimes till 1AM. Stressful indeed. The stress accumulated after that as the company had other proposals too. What will they decide then? Luckily, they decided to go with what Gideon offered them. Phew!

Now, I thought it will simmer down, but it did not. Gideon is still going full steam doing his album recording at Rikku's and that means away for the weekend. We are now at the last day of January and guess what he is doing? He is on his way to Rikku's to do vocals with David and some editing on the album. Busy, busy, busy!

Yesterday was a hectic day too. David arrived from university, and we had to get his car to the garage to sort the lights out. We also had to get to town to get some stuff that he needs at the hostel. I told him to bring his dirty clothes and stuff to wash and iron, but, just as I started that, we had no water as a water pipe burst somewhere in Kempton Park - must have been because of the very heavy rains and thunder storm we had. Scary stuff! We were with out water for the whole day - up until 23h15 that night! If it wasn't for the bore hole in our garden, we would have been stranded totally - still not perfect, but we survived!

Gideon and David attended Sunette Bridges' Facebook Party and came home at 24h00. Tired but happy. I stayed up for them and we drank some coffee before going to bed. Had to get up very early as we had to pack for David to go with Gideon for the rcording, but also to university later on. Because we had no water during the day, I did manage to wash some clothes in the early morning hours. He will be OK for the week.

I need to get myself sorted. I need to paint and draw, but always put others' needs before my own. I should just leave the housework and just get on with it. But then, it is so not good for me to try and be creative when things are left undone, like housework, washing, dishes, etc.

On Facebook I am really so excited! I am finding long lost friends left right and center! We are planning on having a reunion in this year. A 30 year reunion. How cool is that!

I just need to do some Redbubble moderation and features and also a newsletter and then we are off to a great start this coming week

I am going to start a visual journal on my artwork I get to do. Hope it will keep me focused

Blessings
Susan
